Military Family Support Network of National Capitol Region
Families Together is a non-profit 501(c)(3) corporation serving families who have a child with a disability. Our mission is to strengthen family unity through programs that focus on education and recreation for the entire family. It is our belief that a strong family can support and nurture each family member and develop the inner resources needed to meet future challenges. Families Together provides families with new coping strategies and skills; opportunities to learn from - and have fun with - other families in similar situations; and occasions to nurture and strengthen the bonds of family love and support that already exist but which may be frayed by ongoing daily stress. Families Together offers a variety of programs to help families, but central to all our services is the Family Enrichment Program which may consist of a one-day event, or a weekend, where families come together to renew their commitment to each other and to share common concerns with other families who face similar challenges.
