For over ten years, STOMP has held a very successful annual workshop, the Parent Professional Teams Workshop (PPTW) The workshop participants attend in teams of three including parent of an individual with a disability, one military professional working with families of individuals with disabilities and their local Parent Training and Information Center representative.
At this dynamic and intensive advanced level 3.5 day workshop, the team members learn to work together, gain knowledge and practical skills for working with families and set goals for their future as a team serving those families.
After attending the workshop, participants become part of a national network of STOMP volunteers who are available to assist military families of individuals with disabilities within their state.
There are three key ways for these volunteers to serve STOMP:
Providing 1:1 assistance directly to families/professionals
